Overall features of the range for ISA Bus
|
 |
 |
As a set of industrial communication solutions at the leading edge of Technology,
the range of MCX boards for bus ISA comprises 6 boards, thus encompassing
the needs in asynchronous and synchronous communication.
Besides the possibility of their being used from the communication API of
the various operating systems for a utilisation of the multiProtocolserial
links (HDLC/SDLC raw mode, HDLC ABM/LAPB, HDLC NRM/SDLC, X25, MONOSYNC,
BISYNC, BSC, transparent mode, AHDLC asynchronous HDLC ISO/IEC 13239,
asynchronous synchronised, asynchronous ...), they equally offer the possibility
to develop user specific communication applications & protocols on
demand.
Addressing from PC :
ISA or EISA 16 bits Bus
board memory accessible from host PC through a 32 Ko window
Switch off (choice among 10 switch off possibilities)
FIFO of 256 octets
Various status and enter/exit configuration registers
Use of ACKSYS loaded firmwares:
Under this mode of programming, the board ports are directly addressable from the PC according to the API specifications provided with the operating system. The protocols offered for each of the ports depend on the functionalities of Companyware logged.
ACKSYS proposes one firmware for asynchronous communications and another firmware for multiProtocolcommunications (HDLC/ SDLC, BSC, X25
).
Operating systems mounted onto the MultiProtocolsoftware:
Windows 95/98, Millenium, Windows NT/2000, Dos, UNIX SCO.
Development of MS-DOS applications logged on the board:
The development tool MCXDOS allows, during the development phase, access by the board to the peripherals such as screen, keyboard, hard disc, PC mouse. No need to learn any ACKSYS specific development tools: use of the tools available on the market (DOS compiler).
Dynamic downloading of the application logged from the operating PC.
Development of real time applications logged on the board:
- Real time operating system logged on the Compact FLASH board.
- Development of the application logged from the operating PC (Windows 9x, NT/2000, Dos).
Operating system logged on the board:
Any PC compatible O. S. may be built into the boards of the MCX range
(except for OS with native graphic user interface).
Flash Memory for the BIOS and the "Firmware":
256 Kb Eprom Flash.
